ADA Consulting & Compliance

We offer consulting services and guidance to organizations to ensure that they have appropriate ADA compliance measures solidly in place. We come alongside to assist in creating policies and standard operating procedures that are tailor-made to fit the specific needs of each organization. We provide basic ASL and Deaf culture education, and also offer vetting of staff interpreters and interpreter coordinators. We also offer litigation consulting, expert witness services, workplace audits, and ADA compliance education, trainings, and seminars.

Interpreter Coordination

We provide interpreter coordination services for clients across North America. In addition to our vast network of qualified and certified ASL interpreters, we maintain strategic alliances with ASL agencies around the US and Canada. With our synergistic accessibility partners, we strive to ensure that access for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community is provided. Our team is able to provide ongoing as well as one-time interpreting needs. Tactile and Pro-Tactile ASL interpreting services are available for Deaf-Blind consumers.

Video Remote Interpreting Solutions

We live in an age where virtual interpreting is rapidly becoming the norm. Furthermore, there are many pockets of the nation that lack local or regional resources for in-person interpreters. Whether for an emergent situation where waiting for an on-site interpreter is not possible, or if virtual interpreting is simply preferred, we can provide coverage. This service is ideal for situations such as: weekly company staff meetings, clinic followups, and college courses.

Advocacy

Sometimes self-advocacy hits a wall, and individuals can be left feeling frustrated, unsupported, and not knowing where to turn. At Access Partners Unlimited, advocating for access for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is critically important to us. We understand that not everyone communicates the same way, but those differences should still be accommodated with access within the marketplace. Organizations sometimes need information and guidance regarding ADA requirements, and we tactfully inform business owners and health care providers of their legal responsibility so that communication needs are met. When necessary, we may also refer individuals to attorneys who specialize in this area of the law.

Post-Production Services

We provide both ASL interpretation and captioning services for post-production so that videos are accessible for Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees, customers, and the general public. We can convert music, educational, HR & employee training, political speeches, religious, conference/TedTalk, museum tours, and social media videos to have both ASL interpretation and captioning. We also provide theatrical and non-theatrical audio description services for the Blind.

Entertainment Related Services

Our organization can provide both on- and off-set ADA compliance review and education for both cast and production company. We can readily augment commercials, films, documentaries, and other media with both ASL and closed captioning. Inclusion and representation of the the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in works of art and entertainment continue to grow. We can assist with the process by providing: interpreting services for both cast and crew members, script glossing and review, ASL & Deaf culture education, and captioning services.

Support Services Providers (SSP)

Although support services providers are not “aids and services” under the ADA for the Deaf-Blind community, this service can be important in linking those who are both Deaf and Blind with the world around them by providing both orientation and mobility.

For example, large conferences or land and sea tour vacations can be perfect opportunities for conference promoters and tourism vendors to provide these services so that Deaf-Blind consumers can more fully participate in and enjoy these experiences.

Synergistic Alliances

APUI believes that building strategic synergistic alliances with other ADA, accessibility, and interpreting agencies across the nation is smart business. We believe that you can do more when you are locking arms with others who have the same vision, mindset and heart for the work that we strive to do in the industry. We realize that access may look different from region to region and we honor the fact that local agencies are deeply embedded within the D/HH communities they service everyday. At the core of what we do is providing access to those who deserve such services, and we don't allow egos or state boundary lines to impede with that process.  This is why we continue to seek out other organizations that we can come together with to tear down the obstacles preventing accessibility.
