Opening the door to accessibility
At Access Partners Unlimited, Inc. (APUI), we believe that effective communication as defined by federal law, is a human right, not a privilege. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), public entities are required to provide auxiliary aids as accommodations when they are necessary to enable a person with disabilities to benefit from or participate fully in their services, up to and including qualified sign language interpreters.*
This philosophy is reflected in the work that we do at APUI and this is where we come in. We are here to provide you with the guidance your organization needs to help you understand your responsibility in providing accessibility. As your accessibility solutions provider, we have the capabilities and resources to make sure that you’re compliant.
*Federal Regulation 56 states “The Department of Justice does not permit a public entity to charge a person with a disability for the cost of the auxiliary aid provided." The US Department of Justice, as stated in Title III of the ADA, 56 Fed. Reg. 35544-35691, explains in detail the requirements. Public entities are required to provide auxiliary aids as accommodations when they are necessary to enable a person with disabilities to benefit from or participate fully in their services, up to and including qualified sign language interpreters.
Access Partners Unlimited, Inc. is a woman-owned organization and honored agency member of both RID and the US Chamber of Commerce.
What People Are Saying…
“You partnered with our organization to show us what accessibility looks like in real time. Until you came in and trained our team, we really didn’t have a clue about what access should look like.”
— M.I.
“Access Partners worked their magic to source the absolute best ASL Interpreters. This was for a conference we were exhibiting at and provided great exposure for our company. The owner of the dance company also commented on what a great fit the interpreters were with the group. Apparently, other agencies sent ASL interpreters before whose quality was not good, and their personalities didn’t jive with the troupe. Bravo APUI Team!”
– M.H.
“Your company taught us that accessibility for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community isn’t a cooker-cutter process and that the needs can vary dramatically. Thank you for your education, insight and assistance in our policy making process.”
— H.R.
“I’m so at peace knowing you are a call away. Thank you for the work you do in the community!”
— W.E.
“I trust your team wholeheartedly!”
— C.S.
“Thank you for advocating for us when no one else would listen.”

“The one argument for accessibility that doesn’t get made nearly often enough is how extraordinarily better it makes some people’s lives.”
— Steve Krug
